Front Porch Primitives' Easter Giveaway!

So many wonderful Spring giveaways going on right now, isn't it F~U~N!  I want to share another one with you.  Our sweet and funny friend Steph from Front Porch Primitives is having an Easter giveaway of some of her wonderful handmades!  So hop on over to Steph's blog and sign up for this delightful giveaway!

Been working outside every day/afternoon/evening that I can.  It's been too windy here to burn so I haven't started a fire at all this week.  But would you believe that the burn pile that I lit LAST Saturday is still smoldering?  We've even had lots of rain this week!  I put some more leaves/sticks on the pile with the intention of lighting it tomorrow and a fire just started up on its own, lol... crazy.

Anyway, wanted to share a couple of pictures of what I've been doing this week besides cleaning up the back yard.  Waxing!!  =]  No Steph and Karen, not my legs, hehe...

I have a few different sizes of apples that I'm working on right now.  These only have the first coat of wax.

A few more still to do...

Once the first coat is on, the rest of the coats go much quicker.  It's a good thing because all the pears and berries are patiently waiting their turn for the wax dip.

I only have four of the vintage quilt block sawdust pillows left in my Etsy.  I was amazed at how quick they went!  I need to get busy on the bigger sizes.  Goodness... so much to do.

Spring Break coming up this week.  First time ever in 16 years that my husband and the kids are both off the same week so we are going to spend a few days in Missouri with my parents and a couple of day trips here in Oklahoma.  Really looking forward to just hanging out, having tons of fun and laughs, and of course sleeping in!  =]

Enjoy your weekend, my sweet friends~

Whoo hoo. Spring break together. How fun to visit your parents. Do you do anything else fun in Missouri? My sister took her family there last summer and they had a great time. It is a very, very long drive from here:) Those apples look amazing. I was wondering what they are covered with besides the wax. And what are the leaves made from? I want to experiment more with wax but have no idea what to do with it. So, maybe you could help me out. Hee Hee. I need alot of help with alot of stuff. Just learning from the best here. Have a great weekend. -Steph- p.s. Thanks for posting my giveaway dear friend.

Hi, Angie,
Enjoy your vacation with the family, what lovely weather you have and so unseasonable. I wanted you to know that I received my order for that wonderful Victoria House stuff, and I love it. It worked wonders on my cherry cabinets and walnut kitchen table, I am planning on trying it next on old wood flooring upstairs. So glad you recommended it. It isn't very often that a product actually lives up to its reputation!!!!!

Looks like you have been busy with all the waxing and crafting. They look so good. I had heard where other folks were waxing and thought, what is that, now I know. Thanks for showing me. I hope you and your family have a nice spring break.

Hi Angie, I'm a new follower, just found your site surfing around! Are those real apples you are waxing? I've never seen that done before. If they are real does this preserve them and what do you do with them? Sorry so many questions, I just thought that was the neatest thing! Stop by and visit sometime, I'm fairly new to blogging and making some great friends :) By the way, have a Great Spring Break!!

WOW I love these!! How do you "wax" the apples? Do you dip then then roll them in spices? Did you do a tutorial & I can't find it? Any info would be appreciated!! :)
